BBS Express! ST DEMO Version 1.79c - Documentation
----------------------------------------------------------------------
INTRODUCTION:
1. This is a demonstration of BBS Express! ST. This demo version is
the same as the retail BBS Version 1.79c, with a few exceptions:
A. This version only operates in a 'local' mode; that is, the
program will not access the modem in any way. The modem routines
have been removed.
B. Most of the support programs are NOT included in this Demo.
As of this writing, BBS Express! ST is shipped on three disks with
over 1.5 megs of files, utilities etc.
C. This demo is totally pre-configured, and can not be changed by
you in any way. It will only run from hard drive partition D:
with at least 850k free space.
2. The complexity of putting together a demo such as this that will
be run by many people does not allow us much flexability.
3. This is the first DEMO released by C&R Systems. The previous
DEMO was released by ICD Inc in June 1987. There have been many
changes and upgrades since then.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
INSTALLING THE DEMO:
1. The entire demo is contained in the archive "BBSXDEMO.LZH". The
archive can be extracted with the archiver of your choice or you can
have the extracting done automatically with INSTALL.TOS. For those
who wish to do their own extracting, the archive contains specified
folders.
2. To have the demo installed automatically double-click on the
INSTALL.TOS program from the desktop. The files will be extracted
to drive D: and will all be placed in a folder named BBSXDEMO
(D:\BBSXDEMO\).
----------------------------------------------------------------------
RUNNING THE DEMO:
1. To run the demo, double-click on the BBS_DEMO.PRG file.
2. Once the BBS finishes the bootup processing, you will be presented
with the 'Waiting for call' screen. To enter the BBS as the System
operator, press the F1 Function key.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
ADDITONAL INFORMATION:
1. In the folder named INFO are a variety of text files as well as
some additional archived files.
2. We STRONGLY recommend that you completely read X_SPECS.DOC",
Specifications, Features and Discussion". This should answer most of
your questions.
3. In the folder \INFO\ET\ are archived issues of Express Times, the
newsletter for the Express SysOp.
4. The file BULLETIN.004 is C&R Bulletin 4, BBS Express ST!
Registered BBS List.
5. The file BULLETIN.008 is C&R Bulletin 8, BBS Express! ST Software.
Which contains pricing, updating fees and support fees.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We hope this DEMO helps you in deciding on which BBS program you wish
to use.
